TOKAJ PENDITS ABOUT US

FAMILY OWNED WINERY

As a family, we work together, combining our experience in various areas of viticulture and winemaking at Pendits.

Biodynamics

To make the most of cosmic influences, we carry out vineyard work in accordance with the biodynamic planting calendar, aligning with the phases of the Moon and the positions of the zodiac signs.

TRADITION

The geological history of the Tokaj Wine Region and the centuries-old tradition of our vineyards together shape our approach to viticulture.

We strive to ensure that our wines, whose quality is born in the vineyard and refined in the cellar, reflect the character of the wine region, the vineyard, the grape variety, and the vintage.

Family owned winery

For over 30 years, our family has been dedicated to winemaking in one of the region’s finest terroirs. We have gained our knowledge through self-development, the support of good friends and colleagues, and, most importantly, experience. Thanks to years of hard work, passion, and enthusiasm, we are proud to be one of the leading wineries in the region.

Behind Pendits

Marta Wille-Baumkauff

Márta and her three sons jointly run the Pendits Winery, where the family’s passion and expertise come together.

The biodynamic operation of Pendits is thanks to Márta's love for nature. She oversees the operational tasks and coordinates vineyard work on site.

Stefan moved to Hungary in 2005. He handles organizational tasks and is actively involved in the vineyards and the cellar.

Benjamin Benjamin, from Germany, supports sales, organizes wine tastings, and represents the winery at wine fairs.

Vincent lives in Barcelona, where, alongside his tourism business, he operates a wine bar called Vivinos. During wine tastings, he promotes Pendits wines, helps with blending, and writes tasting notes.

Biodynamics

Since 2005, we have been cultivating our vineyards following biodynamic farming principles. In 2008, our winery became the first certified organic estate in Tokaj-Hegyalja.

By 2011, we became the first winery in Hungary to receive the Demeter International biodynamic certification. Our vineyards are part of the UNESCO World Heritage site (Tokaj-Hegyalja Historic Wine Region Cultural Landscape).

Tradition

Preserving the historical names of our vineyards, dating back to the Middle Ages, helps us create a connection with the estate's former narratives and surroundings in our everyday work.
